Admission

The Provisional Program

The Provisional Program is designed for students who scored below the required minimum score for entering KIMEP, but demonstrated overall potential to be a successful student in the future.

KIMEP identifies such students and invites them to a one semester intensive study of English or Mathematics in the Provisional Program.  Students study in the area in which they did not meet KIMEP’s admission requirement.  Therefore, students who did not achieve an adequate English score may be invited to undertake intensive English study and students with a low math score may be invited to study intensive Mathematics.

On the condition that the student successfully completes the Provisional Program he or she may then enter a KIMEP degree program.

Admission to Provisional Program

Admission to the Provisional Program is determined by KIMEP and is based on entrance exam results.  Students who do not meet degree program admission requirements but who are deemed by KIMEP to be adequately prepared for the Provisional Program will be invited to register. Only students granted admission to the Provisional Program by KIMEP may register.

Program Schedule

The Provisional Program is one semester in length.  Classes are held every day, Monday to Friday for three hours each day. The semester encompasses approximately 17 weeks: 15 weeks of classes, an exam week and a one-week ‘Mid-Term Break’.
