Description

This course offers an introduction to digital photography, in particular the creation and editing of still digital imagery. Course topics include “seeing” images, basics of photography including exposure (lens aperture, shutter speed, ISO/ASA), learning to use a digital single lens reflex (SLR) camera, making images in a variety of settings and light conditions, and basic digital photo editing techniques.

Objectives

The main objective of this course is to develop skills in digital image making and editing. It is hoped that students will:
• apply techniques to create, modify, and critique digital imagery
• acquire an appreciation of the role of visual imagery in the human experience
