This course provides the overview of criminalistics with an emphasis on the methods of discovering, processing and analyzing evidence through scientific methods.

Objectives

Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to:
2.1 Knowledge outcomes
• recognize the main forensic laboratory tools and analyses
• abstract fundamental knowledge of characteristics of certain types of crimes.
2.2 Skills outcomes
• identify the methods of evidence collection
• identify the proper types of evidence and evidence gathering techniques for specific crime scenes
• demonstrate ability to critically assess evidence for its value and knowledge of how to process types of evidence
