Description
This course overviews legislation ob Criminal Procedure of Kazakhstan. The purpose of this course is to learn the main principles and rules of criminal procedure including regulation of pre-trial investigation of criminal cases, pre-trial compulsory measures, evidence and averment, trial procedure and appeals.
Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: 1 Knowledge outcomes learn legislation on criminal procedure in Kazakstan; 2 Skills outcomes draft main acts of criminal procedure; 3 Values and behavior outcomes develop strong belief in a rule-of-law state and importance of criminal procedure laws to ensure the main principal of presumption of innocence.

Participants to the criminal procedure.

Evidence.

Pre-trial restraint measures.

Property issues in criminal procedure.
Week6
Commencement and general rules of pre-trial investigation.
Week7
Pre-trial criminal investigation actions and unofficial investigative actions.
Week8
Review. First mid-term exam.
Week9
Interruption, termination and continuance of pre-trial investigation. Completion of pre-trial investigation.
Week10
The indictment act, its confirmation by procurator and submission to the criminal court.
Week11
Jurisdiction of criminal courts. The initial trial.
Week12
Review. Second mid-term exam.
Week13
Appealation procedure.
Week14
Cassation procedure.
Week15
Private action criminal cases. Special cases. Plea bargain. Trial by jury.
