Please note that you should have your internship program and schedule optimized, your time balanced; the internship should not interfere with your studies.

1. Required internship documents (for MBA students who entered in 2003-2004):

All 3 documents should be submitted to BCB Career Services Center in English. If your employer cannot provide you confirmation and recommendation letters in English, please take originals in Russian and attach English translation of these documents (it could be your own translation).
Deadline for submission of all internship documents: 15 days after completion of internship
Only after submission of all required internship documents you internship will be considered as complete.
A. Internship report
Internship report should be written in the form of a paper with a title list.
Report's scope: up to 3 pages, 12 font, 1,5 space (in English)
Deadline for submission of the report: 15 days after completion of internship
The report should include the following items:

C. Recommendation Letter
Always try to ask your employer to give you a recommendation letter. When in future you will start looking for a job you can show it to the potential employer, and it could be of benefit to you.
2. What is the duration of internship?
Usually, it should be of sufficient length, preferably it should occupy most of your summer vacation time. However, it depends on the companies’ demand for our manpower supply.
The period should be of 4 weeks to 6 weeks (or 160-240 working hours) but more importantly it should serve the aims of giving our students the necessary work experience and exposure.
3. Do I need to go on internship if I am already working?
Here, you need to show us a letter from your present employer detailing your appointment as well as the key responsibilities so that we are able to evaluate the skill sets and exposure requirements (see a sample of such letter here). Based on this experience you should also bring an internship report and recommendation letter.
You should register with us so that we can assess or evaluate if your present employment qualifies you as having gone through the required internship program, and that the present employment does gives you the necessary job skills, exposure and experience.
4. Will the internship be given credits/grades?
For MBA students (Entry year: 2003, 2004):
No, however a statement will be indicated in your transcript that you have successfully completed the necessary internship during your MBA in KIMEP.
For MBA and B.Sc. students (Entry year: 2005-2007):
Yes, 3 credits will be given for Internship followed by submission of the internship documents OR Thesis/Project under supervision of an instructor (Please see MBA Credit Internship Guidelines)
5. May I go on internship in my own town (not in Almaty)?
Yes, as long as there are demand for internship of our MBA students there. And if you want us to contact the companies concerned, please also let us know. We can liaise with these companies and then arrange the internship program, catering not only for you, but also for your other classmates.
6. Can I choose the company I want to work for during my internship period?
We will supply our best students for positions in the top or reputable companies. We need to see the students’ results and abilities and then allocate to our students accordingly. Our students should be motivated and study hard so that they work to ensure that they secure internships in the top companies.
7. May I go on internship during both summer and fall semesters?
If you are very keen to go on internship for both summer and fall, then it all depends on the business or rather the demand for interns by the companies. If there is a demand by the companies and the companies want to engage our students, then why not? We will allocate the temporary jobs to our MBA students accordingly. However, normally, companies employ more interns during the summer months and they employ fewer interns during winter.
