| REQUIREMENTS | REQUIREMENTS • Must be at least 18 years old and must be enrolled not less than half-time in a higher education institution or other accredited undergraduate educational institution. • Must have a good academic standing and permission to participate in the program from the educational institution. • Should have Level III (good working knowledge) of English and Level III (good working knowledge) of Russian and Kazakh. Language skills may be tested. • Should have skills in written and oral communication, office software (MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), professional research and written analysis. Should be able to take initiative and complete assigned tasks with accuracy and little supervision. • If selected, the candidate must be able to obtain a security clearance. | DUTIES | The U.S. Consulate General in Almaty is seeking individuals for an Intern position in its Public Diplomacy Section. The purpose of the Student Intern Program is to offer local students accepted into the program the unique opportunity of experiencing a foreign affairs work environment. BASIC FUNCTION OF POSITION · Administrative Support: Assist with administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, preparing briefs, translation of materials, and interpretation during meetings as needed. · Event Support: Contribute to the planning, coordination, execution, and logistics of public events and workshops. · Program Support: Support Section’s programs in Almaty and southern regions of Kazakhstan, including assisting the development and execution of campaigns. · Content Creation: Assist in the creation of engaging and informative content for various platforms, social media posts and videos. · Research and Analysis: Conduct research on key issues and trends related to the U.S. Consulate’s focus areas and current programming, providing valuable insights to support decision-making. Preference will be given to students in Business Administration, Public Administration, Journalism, International Relations, and related fields. |
